EDAVANNAPPARA

Edavannappara is a town in, in the Indian state of Kerala. The Edavannappara town is 26 km away from Kozhikode city. The towns in Malappuram district like Kondotty , Vazhakkad , Areekode, (calicut airport, 19 km) (nilamboor) are located near to this town and near chaliyar river. A majority of the residents of this town are Muslim. Hindus constitutes twenty five to thirty percent of the population and Edavannappara has very few number of people who belongs to any other religion. The main occupation people like sand work, agriculture, etc. Edavannappara is a shopping hub & media for people from neighboring panchayats like Vazhakkad, Vazhayur and Cheekode. Edavannappara weekly market functions on every Friday. Like many other towns in Kerala, economy of Edavannappara depends heavily on the remittances from Gulf countries.
Edavannappara is the major market nearby and thousands of people are interacting with this town on a daily basis. It is in the shore of river Chaliyar. A lot of farmers belonging to Edavannappara and they are mainly depending on the water from Chaliyar. So Chaliyar is known as the vain of Edavannappara. Major hospitals in Edavannappara are Medical Trust hospital, Ashi Hospital And shopping mall (mc Mall) edavannappara in first media studio (white media) more than 6 normal studios 100 more marketing shops 10 hotels for ex.. Muslim league and CPIM are the major political parties in Edavannappara. Currently Edavannappara Panchayath ward is ruled by CPIM. INC also having its own pockets. G.U.P.S. Chaliyapram is situated in the heart of Edavannappara. It is the only major school in edavannappara and it has an history of more than 100 years.

Tourism

Edavannappara is a very scenic village and there is a lot of tourist potential here. The undulating hills in the
neighbouring villages can be utilized to make it a world class picnic location. Three kilometres away lies the even more attractive Elamaram village on the Chaliyar river. There is a ferry service here that can take you to the northern side of the Chaliyar river. The ticket is
Rs.5.00 and the motor boat service is available every half an hour between 6.40 a.m. and 8.40 p.m. including Sundays.

Shoppin

Even though this a tiny village, the shopping facilities available are quite surprisingly elaborate. The MC Mall in
the heart of the town looks like an upmarket city facility.There are also many theme restaurants here. It appears that the villagers here have a flarir for good
